The Menu

Serving seasonal food and pouring local pints daily.

Our menu celebrates the best local, seasonal produce, sourced here in the West Country, whether you fancy a small plate, a sharing dish or a pub banger. That’s why you can find dishes such as pigs head scrumpet sitting alongside a whole market fish, or a beef + stout pie.

We couldn’t bring Chickpea to Somerset without introducing nole pizza too. Our new pizza kitchen stands proudly in the old skittle alley and adds another dimension to our diverse menu, where guests can enjoy hand-stretched sourdough pizza, to eat in or takeaway, any day of the week.

The kitchen is led by Jamie McDougall, who joined Chickpea Group in 2022 and has been Head Chef of the Bell & Crown in Zeals, The Sunday Times Pub of The Year 2023.

“We stayed for two nights at the Manor House Inn in Ditcheat and had an absolutely superb experience from start to finish. The room was spotless, elegantly decorated, and full of charm – with lovely little touches like cookies on arrival that made us feel instantly welcome.

The pub itself was vibrant and full of character, with friendly locals who made us feel right at home. The food was excellent – clearly made with care and packed with flavour. We loved sipping Aperol Spritz in the glorious sunshine outside.

A real added bonus was seeing the racehorses going past the pub each morning – such a unique and memorable touch that made the stay even more special.

A visit to Barbers farm shop is a must to stock up on cheese.

What really stood out, though, was the incredible staff. Every single member of the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and their warmth and hospitality truly made the difference.
